Geotechnical Engineer EIT
Mr. Miller has 2 summers of experience working for a geotechnical materials lab performing materials sampling and laboratory testing of HMA, concrete and aggregates. He has worked on extensive field testing of HMA using a portable nuclear density gauge, paving operation monitoring and inspection, pile-driving inspection, taking pile-driving logs, hollow-stem auger drilling with the split-spoon sample method and using a hand auger. Prior to joining HWA, Shane was a graduate student at the University of Washington obtaining a Master of Science in Civil Engineering focused on geotechnical engineering. His favorite subject within geotechnical engineering is seismic hazard analysis, but is well-versed in all aspects of the field. He prides himself on being able to work diligently as an individual and also excel as a team player.
