Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Pavement Engineer
Mohamed is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at HWA and has over two decades of experience in civil engineering with expertise in pavement engineering, geotechnical engineering and construction management. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), where his graduate research focused on advanced pavement materials, performance-based Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) mix designs, and large-scale pavement testing in instrumentation.
Mohamed is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington State and a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). He is committed to continuous professional development and industry collaboration. He actively contributes to several professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Transportation Research Board (TRB). His committee involvement spans TRB’s Standing Committees on Quality Assurance (AKC30), Sustainable and Resilient Pavements (AKP00(2)), and Stabilization of Geomaterials and Recycled Materials (AKG90), as well as ASCE’s Highway and Airfield Pavement Committees and the ASCE’s Sustainable Transportation Committee.
