Nicholas Johnson
Laboratory Manager

Nicholas has over 7 years of experience in materials testing and laboratory services and has served as HWA’s laboratory manager since 2023. Nicholas has experience performing tests on soil, concrete and asphalt and ensures quality assurance and quality control is in accordance with AASHTO, ASTM, EN, CDOT, WSDOT and necessary state DOT standards. Nicholas also has experience performing on-site observations, collecting samples, and performing tests to monitor work processes while ensuring documentation is kept up to date for accurate reporting.

Nicholas graduated from the University of South Floridia in 2016 with a degree in Environmental Science and Policy. He was driven to pursue this degree after seeing the arising need for mitigation of climate change, environmental degradation and biodiversity loss and strives to do whatever he can to promote positive changes for our environment.

Nicholas enjoys the relaxed and welcoming environment at HWA, and appreciates that the work we do ensures that bridges, roads and other critical infrastructure that we use daily are safe, effective and will stand the test of time!
