HWA provided geotechnical engineering services for the extension of 24th Street SE along the east west easement from SR 9 to the crossing of the alignment of 91st Avenue SE. HWA provided design and recommendations for the associated siting and design of the proposed stormwater facilities and determination of the depth of the wetland soils within the wetland areas along the roadway.

HWA was contracted by Kitsap County to perform a stormwater site selection and design study, with the objectives of improving stream flows by enhancing stormwater infiltration in selected areas. Based on prior work, ten main areas including 22 individual sites were identified in selected drainages with identified instream flow issues as candidate sites for stormwater infiltration. HWA further evaluated the selected sites for feasibility based on geologic, geographic, and functional criteria.

HWA was contracted by J.A. Brennen Associates to provide geotechnical design and stormwater infiltration evaluation for park improvements, including parking, water access and other amenities. Included in the geotechnical evaluations of the proposed development was a mounded landscape and trail feature within the park and adjoining the active channel of the Green River. Stability of the riverbanks was assessed in respect to the design and construction aspects of this feature.
