HWA performed engineering studies to evaluate subsurface conditions and provided recommendations for design and construction of the geotechnical aspects of the Lakewood Interceptor Project in Marysville, Washington. HWA received a Gold Award in Exceeding Client / Owner Needs at the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Washington's 2007 Engineering Excellence Awards.
HWA was contracted to support a feasibility study of wastewater system upgrades. We evaluated existing drainfield sites as well as alternative locations for additional capacity based on geologic, geographic, and functional criteria. HWA also conducted explorations that included hand and hollow stem auger borings, piezometer installation, and lab soil testing to determine grain size distribution.
