Ayla is a licensed geologist with over five years of experience in environmental and geotechnical consulting. Ayla has worked on numerous projects throughout the PNW and is experienced in hillslope and fluvial geomorphology, geotechnical drilling, environmental field exploration and reconnaissance, geohazard identification, modeling and mapping.

Ayla graduated from the University of Washington with a master’s degree in Earth and Space Sciences – Applied Geosciences in 2018. She chose to purse a degree in geosciences because she loves being able to look at the various landscapes of Washington state and understand their formation and composition.

Ayla is inspired by the work she does at HWA, taking subsurface information and relevant surface features to piece together a better understanding of geologic conditions to support the unique needs of each project. She loves working with the team and being able to collaborate and apply her education to better understand, address, and communicate geologic challenges.
