Miya Magee
Geologist
Miya attended college at California State University Long Beach (CSULB) where she started out as an interior designer, and quickly realized that wasn’t her calling. Following her love for science and the outdoors, she took a Geology Natural Disasters course and decided to switch majors, leading her to graduate with her Bachelors in Geology in 2024. Miya’s favorite courses in school were structural geology, geophysics, geologic writing and her undergraduate research and summer field courses.
Miya’s experience includes work on a local Surface and Stormwater team as well as the CSULB Research Foundation doing her undergraduate research, she spent her summers attending workshops analyzing seismic data and coding language. At HWA, Miya works in the Geotechnical Engineering department supporting a wide variety of projects.
